Review of Napa Olympic Private Hospital

1.0
My son was admitted to this hospital by ambulance, despite his and his friends' protestations that one was not needed. He was taken overnight and put on a drip. The following morning, they demanded 450 euros from him for his 'care'. They would not accept his EHIC card, because they are a private hospital. He asked for an invoice, but was told that if he wanted paperwork then the rate would increase to 600 euros and that if he didn't pay immediately, a bill for 1000 euros would be sent to his address in England. He telephoned me in England and I asked to speak to the receptionist. I heard her clearly and repeatedly refuse to speak to me. In the end, he had to pay the 450 euros to get away, but with no paperwork except a receipt for the amount paid -supposedly for an infusion...as far as I can see, he was hounded for his youth and inexperience and an amount demanded without any proper explanation or justification. If it was all above board, why no paperwork and why would the woman at reception refuse to speak to me??? I have emailed a complaint, but surprisingly, no response!!!! Travellers beware.
